The Indian List A domestic one-day tournament, Vijay Hazare Trophy, has started from Monday, and many big names shone in the event. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli smashed a century in their comeback match in the domestic circuit. BCCI has asked the Indian players to play the domestic tournaments to have game time. The 2027 World Cup is just 1.5 years away, and the Indian team management has already started setting the roadmap. With Shubman Gill and Shreyas Iyer as the captain and Vice Captain, the team had already started to set the tone, giving domestic tournament priority. As the heroes of Indian cricket joined the big show, the first day of the ODI event came to a close with stunning performances.

Here is a highlight of the first day

Bihar turned on the beast mode

Bihar broke the world record for the highest total in List A cricket and added one more feather to its cap in Indian cricket history. Bihar went on the rampage against Arunachal Pradesh, a brilliant 84-ball 190 from youthful Vaibhav Suryavanshi. If his efforts weren't enough, Sakibull Gani broke the record for the fastest century by an Indian in List A cricket by reaching three figures off just 32 balls. Bihar ended the match with a total of 574/6, against Arunachal Pradesh, who were bowled out for 177 and lost by a staggering 397 runs.

Karnataka made a record-breaking chase

Karnataka created List A history with the highest chase in Indian domestic cricket. Devdutt Padikkal's 118-ball 147 helped to defeat Ishan Kishan's Jharkhand. Batting first, Kishan smashed a quick 39-ball 125 at number six, which was packed with 14 sixes and seven fours. Jharkhand finished with a massive 412, but Paddikal carried the innings, hitting match winning century with seven sixes and ten more boundaries

Bengal chased down 382 runs against Vidarbha

In their opening match of the tournament, Vidarbha reached a huge 382/5 thanks to hundreds from Aman Mokhande (110) and Dhruv Shorey (136). But Bengal took down the enormous target in Rajkot with seven balls remaining, so their brilliant effort and 195-run partnership were in vain. Shahbaz Ahmed and captain Abhimanyu Easwaran both scored 71 runs, while Abishek Porel and Sudip Kumar Gharami also contributed half-centuries in a team effort that made history, but the winners did not have a single centurion.

Gurjapneet Singh set the stage for Tamil Nadu

Tamil Nadu easily defeated Puducherry to start their campaign due in large part to Gurjapneet Singh's four-fer. Puducherry got off to a challenging start after TN scored 310/7 because of half-centuries from Pradosh Paul and N Jagadeesan, as well as important contributions from Sai Sudharsan and Sunny Sandhu. They were 146/2 at one point when Gurjapneet scored consecutive goals to radically change the course of the match. As Puducherry easily lost by 101 runs, he returned to add two more wickets to his total.
