The West Bengal government has issued a fresh reshuffle in the state police. A total of 29 police officers have been transferred across the state. On Wednesday, the Bhavani Bhavan issued transfer orders for multiple SDPOs, Deputy Superintendents and ACP rank officers. The officer has been instructed to take charge of the new post promptly.
Key district-level postings announced
S Akhtar Ali, currently ACP of Howrah Police Commissionerate, has been posted as SDPO, Khatra in Bankura. Tapas Sarkar, Deputy SP Headquarters in Jalpaiguri, goes to Bishnupur in Diamond Harbour as SDPO. Tanay Chattopadhyay, now SDPO Bishnupur, has been shifted as Deputy SP in CID, West Bengal.

Osama Bakhtiyar moves from Deputy SP Administration, Bankura, to Deputy SP DIB, Bankura. Rakeshkumar Chowdhury shifts from Deputy SP DIB, Bankura, to Deputy SP Administration, Bankura. Utpal Purkait leaves SDPO Deganga to become ACP in Howrah Commissionerate.
Border and subdivision changes
Sudipta Sarkar, Deputy SP and PA to IGP of NBR, becomes SDPO Malbazar. Somnath Jha, Deputy SP Border Ranaghat, is posted as SDPO Jaigaon. Prashanta Debnath moves from SDPO Jaigaon to SDPO Dinhata. Dhiman Mitra shifts from SDPO Dinhata to SDPO Maheshtala. Syed Rezaul Kabir moves from SDPO Maheshtala to Deputy SP Traffic, Diamond Harbour. Pabitrakumar Barik shifts from Deputy SP Traffic to Deputy SP AP in Diamond Harbour.
Ramkumar Mandal goes from SDPO Canning to SDPO Bagda. Arka Panja moves from SDPO Bongaon (designated as Dy SP D & T), Purulia to Deputy SP Border Ranaghat. Mottakanur Rahman leaves CID to become SDPO Canning. Ayan Sadhu shifts from ACP Howrah to SDPO Belpahari. Shri Afzal Abrar moves from SDPO Kalna to Deputy SP Headquarters Jalpaiguri. Aminul Islam Khan shifts from Joint Assistant Director IB to SDPO Deganga.
Exchanges between commissionerates and districts
Durlabh Sarkar goes from Deputy SP DIB West Midnapore to Deputy SP Traffic Murshidabad. Jay Prakash Pande moves from ACP Howrah to Deputy SP DIB West Midnapore. Mani Shankar Sengupta shifts from Deputy SP DEB Diamond Harbour to ACP Police Commissionerate. Parmita Mukhopadhyay and Soumya Shanta Pahari have exchanged postings between Howrah GRP and Hooghly Rural.

Gobinda Biswas and Nimai Chand Chowdhury have also been interchanged between Howrah GRP and Hooghly Rural. Sandip Nandi and Jayanta Bag have swapped postings between Asansol Durgapur Commissionerate and Hooghly Rural. Kaushik Basak and Debashis Chattaraj have exchanged posts between Minakhan and Krishnanagar.
The state has also issued an order for the transfer of 23 IPS and WBPS rank officers. The administration has stated that these are routine transfers. A few days ago, several SPs were also transferred in multiple phases.
