Set to begin on November 29 from Tufanganj in Cooch Behar and conclude on December 17 at Kamarhati in North 24 Parganas, the march will span nearly 1,000 kilometres across 11 districts. Through this journey, the party plans to highlight issues such as alleged corruption, unemployment, and the weakening of democratic institutions under the current state government, while also criticising what it describes as the Centre’s “anti-people policies.”
CPI(M) leaders hope the Yatra will help position the Left as a credible “third pole” in Bengal’s polarised political climate. The new song, teased ahead of the Yatra and expected to be released in full at its launch and is intended to provide a motivational anchor to the campaign, amplifying public grievances and articulating the party’s vision ahead of the 2026 polls.
