Several fuel depots in Tehran were struck during Israeli military operations on Saturday, with large fires and explosions reported at multiple locations in the Iranian capital.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed in a statement that it had targeted Iranian fuel storage facilities, saying the depots were used to supply fuel to military infrastructure.
"The military forces of the Iranian regime make direct and frequent use of these fuel tanks to operate military infrastructure," the IDF said. According to the statement, the facilities were part of a network distributing fuel to various users, including military entities. The Israeli military said the strike was aimed at deepening damage to what it described as Iran’s military infrastructure.

Videos circulating online and images carried by Reuters showed thick smoke and flames rising from the Shahran oil depot in Tehran after the strikes.
Fires reported at multiple fuel depots
Iranian media earlier reported that a fuel depot near the capital’s main refinery complex in southern Tehran had been hit.
The ILNA news agency said the refinery itself was not damaged. An AFP journalist also reported seeing flames and dense smoke at a fuel depot in northwestern Tehran following additional strikes.
The attacks come amid the continuing military confrontation involving Israel, the United States and Iran, which has led to missile and drone strikes across parts of the Middle East.

Trump comments on deadly school strike
US President Donald Trump also addressed reports of a deadly strike on a school in Minab, in southern Iran, during remarks to reporters aboard Air Force One.
"We think it was done by Iran. Because they are very inaccurate, as you know, with their munitions. They have no accuracy whatsoever," Trump said.
Iranian authorities have said the strike hit a girls’ elementary school and killed more than 150 people, most of them students. Neither Israel nor the United States has claimed responsibility for the reported attack.
Regional tensions continue to escalate
Iran’s Revolutionary Guards said earlier this week that they had targeted the Al-Dhafra air base in the United Arab Emirates, which they alleged had been used as a launch point for attacks.

The Guards said the base was struck using drones and missiles, according to a statement broadcast on Iranian state television.
The Pentagon said it was reviewing the situation, while US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said the United States would not deliberately target a school.
A report by The New York Times suggested that US military activity near the Strait of Hormuz may have been linked to operations in the area. The conflict, which escalated after recent US-Israeli strikes on Iranian targets, has triggered a series of retaliatory attacks across the region and heightened concerns over broader instability in West Asia.
