A newly surfaced video aired by Bangladeshi broadcaster Jamuna TV has captured the final moments of Dipu Chandra Das, a Hindu garment worker who was lynched in Bangladesh’s Mymensingh region last week.
The footage shows a crowd gathered outside a factory gate late on December 18, shouting and waiting as people inside prepare to open the door. Moments later, Dipu is seen being taken away by the mob. Authorities say he was killed shortly after.

According to Bangladeshi media reports, the attack followed allegations that Dipu had made offensive remarks about Islam. However, investigators have stated that no evidence has been found so far to support those claims.
Probe underway, arrests made
Bangladesh’s Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has confirmed that 12 people have been arrested in connection with the killing. Officials said the incident took place around 8.30 pm local time in the Dubalipara area of Bhaluka upazila.
Several reports allege that after Dipu was beaten to death, his body was taken to the Dhaka–Mymensingh highway, stripped and set on fire. Authorities have not officially confirmed all details, saying the investigation is still ongoing.
The video resurfaced after it was shared by writer Taslima Nasrin, who suggested that Dipu may have been targeted due to personal enmity rather than any religious offence. In a social media post, she criticised what she described as systemic failures to protect minorities and questioned how Dipu was handed over to the mob.
Bangladeshi officials have denied allegations that police knowingly facilitated the killing and said responsibility will be fixed once the probe is completed.

India’s Ministry of External Affairs has earlier urged Bangladesh to ensure accountability and bring all those responsible to justice.
The incident has renewed concerns among rights groups over mob violence and the safety of religious minorities in Bangladesh. Officials said further arrests may follow as the investigation progresses.
