The name of the United States Institute of Peace has been changed to 'Donald J. Trump Institute of Peace.' The change of name has come right before a peace treaty is to be signed between Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), which is scheduled for today, December 4.
Announcing the change, the US Department of State posted on X, "This morning, the State Department renamed the former Institute of Peace to reflect the greatest dealmaker in our nation's history. Welcome to the Donald J. Trump Institute of Peace. The best is yet to come."
Quoting the post, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio wrote, "President Trump will be remembered by history as the President of Peace. It's time our State Department display that."

What is the US Institute of Peace?
Founded in 1984, the United States Institute of Peace is a non-profit organisation, funded by the US Congress, which works in researching, analysing and training people to become diplomats, and ensure 'world peace.'
Till now, the USIP has worked towards ensuring peace majorly in the middle-eastern nation of Iraq, and works towards securing long-lasting harmony.
Gavin Newsom claps back
California governor and Democrat's rising star Gavin Newsom mocked the change of name. Quoting the White House linked 'Rapid Response 47' handle's tweet announcing the new name of the institute, Governor Newsom's press office posted a picture of the building with 'KFC Institute for Veganism' emblazoned on it instead of 'Donald J. Trump Institute of Peace.'
