A video that has gone viral on the internet, in the USA, has enraged viewers after a couple of Indians faced racist and xenophobic abuse from a random person in the streets.
The clip, which has been widely circulated across social media platforms, shows a man sitting inside a car questioning the couple about their nationality before aggressively telling them to leave the country.
It is unknown as to when and where this event took place.
Couple remains calm during confrontation
In the video, the stranger asks the couple whether they are from India and then questions why they are in the US if they believe India is “good.”
The husband responds calmly, saying both countries have positives and negatives. When the couple explains they are in the US “to explore the world,” the man becomes increasingly aggressive.
“We don’t want you here. You have to go home. Get the f*** out of my country,” he says in the video.
Despite the hostile remarks, the couple remains composed throughout the exchange and does not escalate the situation.
The clip quickly gained traction online, with many social media users praising the pair for maintaining calm under pressure. Several users described the couple’s response as dignified and restrained, arguing that they refused to engage with provocation or hatred.

On the other hand, the occurrence prompted debate online on how victims ought to react to racial behavior in public spaces.
While some thought that staying silent when confronted with such acts may normalize xenophobic behavior, others thought the most appropriate course of action is to avoid provoking the aggressor(s).
Moreover, the video raised debate about the increasing amount of anti-Indian rhetoric that is being circulated via social media platforms.
As per reports that were circulating online, the YouTube channel that uploaded the video allegedly belongs to a self-proclaimed music producer who had also released videos making fun of Indians and their businesses. Users tagged Marco Rubio while uploading the video in view of his previous comments regarding racist statements that can happen anywhere even though one may claim that one’s home is welcoming towards everyone.
