Yashasvi Jaiswal’s future with Rajasthan Royals has come under discussion after former India opener Kris Srikkanth made a striking observation about the young batter’s role in the franchise.

Srikkanth believes Jaiswal may need a fresh environment where he can remain the centre of attention and continue his growth without competition from another emerging star.

The comments came after Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s rapid rise attracted widespread attention during the IPL season, creating fresh debates around the Rajasthan Royals’ batting setup and long-term plans.

Srikkanth’s advice for Jaiswal

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Kris Srikkanth said Jaiswal should think about moving away from the Rajasthan Royals if he wants to avoid being pushed into the background.

“You can’t compete with him. You have to leave the Rajasthan Royals. Go to a different franchise. Otherwise, you’ll become second fiddle,” Srikkanth said while referring to Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s growing impact, as per Hindustan Times.

He also pointed to the attention Sooryavanshi has received in recent months and how quickly the youngster has become one of the talking points of the tournament. According to Srikkanth, the franchise’s focus may increasingly shift toward the teenage sensation in the coming years.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s rapid rise

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi emerged as one of the biggest stories of the IPL season after impressive performances for the Rajasthan Royals. The youngster’s aggressive batting style and fearless approach drew praise from fans and former cricketers alike.

His rise has also increased competition within the squad, particularly among young Indian batters. With Rajasthan Royals investing in future talent, discussions around team balance and batting positions have become more prominent.

Srikkanth suggested that Jaiswal, despite already proving himself at the highest level, may benefit from becoming the primary batting face of another franchise rather than sharing the spotlight, as per Hindustan Times.

Jaiswal remains a key Indian prospect

Despite the discussion around his IPL future, Jaiswal continues to be regarded as one of India’s brightest batting prospects. The left-handed opener has already established himself across formats and remains an important part of India’s long-term plans.

His performances for the Rajasthan Royals over the past few seasons have played a major role in his rise to the national team. However, Srikkanth’s remarks have now added another layer to conversations around player roles, franchise priorities and the changing dynamics within IPL squads.
