Many Americans are now posting videos on social media showing themselves wearing their passports attached to their heads because of fears and concerns regarding continuing Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids.
A large number of these viral videos show creators using this method to express a collective concern about being asked to show proof of their American citizenship. News agency Hindustan Times quoted a TikTok creator saying, "You cannot be too careful, you gotta move with purpose now."

DHS mandates...
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) asserts that, under the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA), all aliens and non-citizens living in the US, must carry proof of their immigration status.
News agency 'Newsweek' reported the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) saying, "REAL IDs are not immigration documents—they make identification harder to forge, thwarting criminals and terrorists. REAL ID can confirm identity but does not confirm legal status. The INA [Immigration and Nationality Act] requires aliens and non-citizens in the US to carry immigration documents."
The trend originated in December but several videos are now being disseminated online in the wake of the shooting deaths of two US citizens at the hands of federal agents in Minneapolis. Alex Pretti, an ICU nurse, and Renee Good both were murdered in less than three weeks by federal agents.
As ICE continues to enforce the harsh immigration policies that were enacted under Trump, users across the social media platforms continue to share posts depicting how ICE's actions are impacting their lives.

Hindustan Times quoted a TikTok creator, @dotish001, saying, "Before you ask me, 'Are you a citizen? Where's your passport?', you see my passport already. This is how we move around." The news agency further informed that the video had garnered over 7 million views, showing him walking around with his passport affixed to his head.
