Bitter cold and the play of green lights across the sky overhead—many people dream of seeing the 'Northern Lights' or aurora borealis. Norway has taken a special initiative to make that dream even more colorful for tourists.

The country has launched for the first time a special 'night train' with completely glass walls and a roof. Tourists can lean back in the train seats and enjoy the magical Arctic sky. This new train has already created a sensation worldwide.

Magical sky through glass windows
The train's roof and windows are made entirely of glass, allowing clear views of the outside scenery from inside the train. Very dim lighting is maintained inside to prevent reflections on the glass.

The train seats are designed to easily recline backward for looking up at the sky. As a result, tourists can comfortably watch the Northern Lights while relaxing or lying down.

Why this train in Norway?
Norway is the best place to see the aurora borealis. This train starts its journey from Norway's Narvik station and travels to the Arctic or polar region.

The aurora borealis is best visible in the sky over this area of Norway. On this route near Tromsø city, there's approximately a 50 percent chance of seeing the aurora borealis during winter.

When will this train run?
This train will run only during the winter season, from October to March. During this time, nights are very long and dark, providing the best opportunity to see the aurora borealis.
