Saudi Arabia on Saturday issued a strongly worded statement condemning what it called “heinous Iranian aggression”, hours after missile alerts sounded across Abu Dhabi and a civilian was killed in what the UAE described as a blatant attack.

In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on February 28, 2026, the Kingdom denounced what it called a “flagrant violation” of international law and affirmed its full solidarity with the affected countries.

‘Blatant violation of sovereignty’

The statement said, “The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia condemns and denounces in strongest terms the blatant Iranian aggression and the flagrant violation of the sovereignty of the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Bahrain, the State of Qatar, the State of Kuwait, and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.”

It added that Saudi Arabia stands in unwavering support of these “brotherly countries” and is ready to place all its capabilities at their disposal in support of any measures they may undertake. The Kingdom also warned of “grave consequences” resulting from continued violations of states’ sovereignty and the principles of international law.
