Saudi Arabia on Saturday issued a strongly worded statement condemning what it called âheinous Iranian aggressionâ, hours after missile alerts sounded across Abu Dhabi and a civilian was killed in what the UAE described as a blatant attack.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on February 28, 2026, the Kingdom denounced what it called a âflagrant violationâ of international law and affirmed its full solidarity with the affected countries.
âBlatant violation of sovereigntyâ
The statement said, âThe Kingdom of Saudi Arabia condemns and denounces in strongest terms the blatant Iranian aggression and the flagrant violation of the sovereignty of the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Bahrain, the State of Qatar, the State of Kuwait, and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.â
It added that Saudi Arabia stands in unwavering support of these âbrotherly countriesâ and is ready to place all its capabilities at their disposal in support of any measures they may undertake. The Kingdom also warned of âgrave consequencesâ resulting from continued violations of statesâ sovereignty and the principles of international law.

âThe Kingdom affirms its full solidarity with and unwavering support for the brotherly countries, and its readiness to place all its capabilities at their disposal in support of any measures they may undertake. It also warns of the grave consequences resulting from the continued violation of states' sovereignty and the principles of international law.â
Calling on the global community to act, Saudi Arabia urged international stakeholders to condemn what it termed blatant attacks and to take firm measures to confront actions that undermine regional security and stability.

Missile attack in Abu Dhabi
The statement came hours after emergency alerts rang out across Abu Dhabi on Saturday afternoon, warning residents of potential missile threats. Authorities advised people to take shelter immediately, avoid windows and doors and stay away from open areas.

The United Arab Emirates Ministry of Defence later confirmed that the country had come under what it described as a âblatant attackâ involving Iranian ballistic missiles. Air defence systems intercepted a number of the incoming missiles, officials said.
However, one person of Asian nationality was killed after shrapnel fell into a residential area, according to NDTV. Abu Dhabi termed the incident a âdangerous escalationâ and said it reserves the right to respond.
