Venezuela was struck by another earthquake on Friday, adding to concerns in a country still struggling to recover from the devastating twin earthquakes that hit earlier this week.
According to Reuters, the latest tremor measured 4.9 in magnitude and was felt in Caracas and Maracaibo. There were no immediate reports of casualties or major damage, but the quake came just two days after powerful 7.2- and 7.5-magnitude earthquakes caused widespread destruction across northern Venezuela.

Death toll rises as thousands remain missing
The twin earthquakes, among the strongest recorded in the country in more than a century, damaged homes, roads, bridges and public infrastructure. Several northern regions, including Caracas and La Guaira, experienced severe destruction.
Jorge Rodríguez, president of Venezuela's National Assembly, said the death toll has risen to at least 920. Nearly 50,000 people are still missing as rescue teams continue searching through damaged buildings and affected areas, NDTV reported.
"Each person saved is a miracle," Rodríguez said, adding that authorities would be transparent about "the magnitude of this tragedy."
Officials fear the number of casualties could increase as search operations continue.
Humanitarian concerns grow
International agencies have raised concerns about the scale of the disaster. The International Organisation for Migration estimates that nearly 6.76 million people may have been affected by the earthquakes, including around 2 million residents of Caracas.
The United Nations has warned about the impact on children, noting that nearly 3.9 million children live in the affected areas. UNICEF teams are working alongside local authorities to support relief efforts.
International assistance reaches Venezuela
Several countries have stepped forward to assist rescue and relief operations.
The United States has deployed specialised search-and-rescue teams that include firefighters, doctors, structural engineers and trained search dogs to help in the worst-hit regions.
