Grand Theft Auto VI has moved into its commercial rollout phase, with pre-orders going live at midnight local time on June 25 on digital storefronts and at select retailers, according to Rockstar Games.
The company has tied the launch to November 19, 2026, and says the game will arrive on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Reuters, citing Take-Two, reported that the base edition will cost $79.99, marking a notable jump from the long-standing $69.99 standard for major releases.

The purse strings tighten a touch
Alongside the standard release, Rockstar has confirmed an Ultimate Edition priced at $99.99. The premium version will include exclusive in-game content tied to the story of Jason and Lucia, including vehicles, weapons, and apparel.
The company is positioning the higher-priced bundle as the top-end launch option for players who want additional content from day one, while the standard version remains the entry point for most buyers.
The pricing announcement ends months of speculation around how aggressively Rockstar would price one of the industry’s most anticipated games.

First in line, first to collect
Rockstar has also outlined a set of launch bonuses. Anyone who pre-orders the game or buys it before November 20 will receive the Vintage Vice City Pack. Digital buyers will also get one free month of GTA+, Rockstar’s subscription service.
The bonuses are designed to reward early purchases ahead of the game’s launch window, which has become one of the most closely watched dates in the gaming calendar.
A decidedly digital affair
The rollout also reflects the industry’s continuing shift toward digital distribution. Physical copies of GTA VI will not include a game disc and instead will come with a download code inside the box.
Physical editions will be available from November 12 to allow pre-loading before launch day. That would mean buyers of boxed copies still need to download the game rather than install it from a disc, further underlining how major releases are increasingly being structured around digital-first sales and pre-load access.
