Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are preparing for a rare family trip to the United Kingdom in July, with reports suggesting that the couple will rely on their own security team during the visit.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are expected to travel to London for the one-year countdown to the 2027 Invictus Games. The trip is significant as it would mark the first time Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet have visited the UK together since 2022.
Security arrangements under spotlight
According to reports cited by NDTV, Prince Harry will continue to travel with members of his personal security team. Sources quoted by Page Six said that “Harry always travels with one of two of his own security team”.

The report also stated that the family will not travel by private jet. However, security arrangements remain a major focus as Harry continues his legal battle over the level of protection he receives while visiting Britain.
Prince Harry reportedly spends around $3 million annually on private security in the United States. A decision on whether he will receive police protection in the UK similar to his previous arrangements is still pending.
An insider related to Harry and Meghan Markle was quoted as saying by NDTV, “They know it will make the biggest spectacle. They will want photos of them being royal.”
King Charles reportedly offered accommodation
Reports have also suggested that King Charles offered the couple a royal residence with official security during their stay. However, the proposal has reportedly not been accepted.
Security experts and sources have pointed out that private security teams do not have access to intelligence updates available to official agencies.
According to sources cited by NDTV, “royal and diplomatic protection cops are tapped into the intelligence infrastructure of the state in a way that private security are not”.
Possibility of a royal reunion
The visit has also sparked speculation about a possible meeting between Prince Harry and King Charles.
