Kasim Khan, the younger son of former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan, has come into the spotlight after delivering a speech during the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) in Geneva. While delivering his speech during the 61st session of the UNHRC, he raised concerns over his father's health and detention, which have attracted political responses in Pakistan. The government has accused Kasim of trying to influence Pakistan's trade policy under the GSP Plus regime.

Who is Kasim Khan?

Kasim Khan was born on April 10, 1999, to Imran Khan and British socialite/journalist Jemima Goldsmith. Kasim Khan grew up in the United Kingdom in the company of his elder brother, Sulaiman Isa Khan. Sources have indicated that he pursued his school education in London before joining the University of Bristol for his higher education in Islamic History.

Kasim has also been involved in other business activities outside politics. Kasim Khan is recognised for his role in establishing the influencer marketing company, Mifu, in the United Kingdom in 2023. So far, his activities have been limited to his professional activities.

Stepping into the spotlight

Kasim largely stayed away from the political arena until his father’s arrest in August 2023. Since then, he has gradually become more visible, particularly in matters related to his father’s legal and health situation. The recent speech made by him at the UNHRC meeting has made him the central figure in the sphere of both politics and the public.
