Banks and stock markets in India will remain closed on December 25 for Christmas, with normal trading resuming on December 26.

Banks will remain closed on Christmas, the birthday of Jesus Christ. On the same day, trading in India's stock markets will also be suspended. This means stock trading will be closed on NSE and BSE on December 25. December 25 is on the stock market holiday list. Most of the world's stock markets will remain closed on this day.

On December 25, Thursday, there will be no trading in stock, derivatives, and SLB (Securities Lending and Borrowing) segments on NSE and BSE. Besides this, the currency and commodity (MCX and NCDEX) markets will also remain closed on this day. Again,, on December 26, Friday, the stock market will open. After this, there is another stock market holiday in the new year. The stock market will remain closed on January 26.

When is the stock market open?

The stock market remains open from Monday to Friday from 9:15 AM to 3:30 PM. Besides this, there is a pre-open session from 9:00 AM to 9:15 AM. The market will remain closed on Saturday and Sunday.
