Industrialist Sunjay Kapur’s death has heralded a legal battle within his family over his estimated Rs 30,000 crore estate. The dispute involves Kapur’s children with actor Karisma Kapoor, Samaira and Kiaan Raj Kapur and his widow, Priya Sachdev Kapur.

Samaira and Kiaan have moved the Delhi High Court, questioning the legitimacy of a will that allegedly leaves the entire estate to Priya. In their plea, the children have claimed that the will is forged and fabricated and have also questioned the authenticity of the signature on the document. They have claimed their rightful share in the estate stating that the will raises serious doubts.

Sunjay Kapur’s mother, Rani Kapur has also separately challenged the will. She told the court that she was oblivious to the will’s existence during her son’s lifetime and said she was never informed about it. She further pointed out that the document does not even acknowledge her despite their close relationship with her son .

Priya Kapur’s defence

According to an ANI report, Senior Advocate Rajiv Nayar, appearing for Priya denied all allegations. He stated that a complete list of assets, supported by documents has already been submitted to the court. He also rejected claims that assets were shifted overseas or concealed and dismissed allegations related to Kapur’s income and luxury items.
