The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has cancelled the CTET 2026 Paper 2 at the Hajipur centers in Vaishali, in the state of Bihar, due to unavoidable circumstances. Only a small number of candidates have been affected by this, since the rest of the examination has been conducted smoothly across the country.
CTET Paper 2 cancelled at two centres
In an official post shared on X, the Central Board of Secondary Education confirmed that the CTET examination was scheduled at 1,803 centres nationwide. Paper 2 was successfully held at 1,801 centres. However, the exam had to be cancelled at two Hajipur centres — St. John’s Academy, Basmatia Nagar (centre code 125016) and Lakshya International Academy (centre code 125014).
Out of 1803 examination centres for the CTET across the country, Paper - 2 has been conducted successfully at 1801 examination centes.

No particular reasons for the disruption have been revealed, but it has acknowledged the inconvenience caused to candidates.

Re-exam within 15 days
CBSE stated that a re-examination for candidates allotted to these two centres will be held at the same centres within the next 15 days. The new date and timetable will be communicated to the relevant candidates.
CTET 2026 exam schedule
The CTET 2026 is being conducted on February 7 and February 8, 2026, across India. Both Paper I and Paper II are held on both days in two shifts. Paper II, meant for Classes VI to VIII, would begin in the morning, from 9:30 am to 12:00 noon. Paper I, for Classes I-V, would be scheduled in the afternoon, from 2:30 pm to 5:00 pm. Both papers would be conducted for two and a half hours each, while candidates would need to report at least an hour in advance prior to the commencement of their session.

The CTET is conducted by CBSE to determine eligibility for school teaching jobs all over the country. It is necessary to conduct recruitment in the central government schools, such as Kendriya Vidyalayas and Navodaya Vidyalayas, and in those institutions that consider the CTET score.
