Students seeking a review of their Class 12 board examination results can now apply for verification of marks and re-evaluation, as the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has activated the online portal following multiple postponements.
The board announced the development through a post on X and advised candidates to watch the instructional video available on the portal before submitting their applications. The video explains the complete procedure for applying for verification of marks and re-evaluation.

Portal launch delayed more than once
The re-evaluation portal was originally expected to open on June 1. Earlier, CBSE had planned to reopen the facility on May 29 for students who had already received scanned copies of their evaluated answer sheets.

However, the launch was pushed back, with the board stating that extra time was needed to ensure a transparent and error-free process.
Students had been allowed to request scanned copies of their answer books between May 19 and May 25. After May 26, candidates were awaiting the reopening of the portal for the next stage of the review process.
How the re-evaluation process will work
Under the revised system, students who have obtained scanned copies of their evaluated answer scripts can raise question-wise objections if they believe marks have been awarded incorrectly or if any answer has not been assessed properly.
These objections will be reviewed by subject experts through the On-Screen Marking (OSM) system, according to an Education Ministry official.

Fees for verification and re-evaluation
Candidates applying for verification of marks will be required to pay ₹500 per answer book. For re-evaluation, the fee has been fixed at ₹100 per question.
CBSE is expected to keep the verification and re-evaluation portal open for a minimum of two days after the final scanned and evaluated answer book is made available to applicants.
Students planning to seek a review of their results are advised to complete the process within the stipulated timeline once the portal remains fully operational.
