In a circular dated December 29, 2025, Sanyam Bhardwaj, Controller of Examinations, informed CBSE-affiliated school principals that the Class 10 and Class 12 examinations originally scheduled for March 3, 2026, have been postponed due to administrative reasons. The new dates are March 11, 2026, for Class 10 and April 10, 2026 for Class 12, while all other exam dates remain unchanged.
The circular, as quoted by NDTV, states, "The examinations of the subjects for Class 10 and Class 12, which were earlier scheduled on March 3, 2026, have been rescheduled due to administrative reasons. The revised dates are as follows: Class 10 - March 11, 2026; Class 12 - April 10, 2026. All other examination dates remain unchanged."

CBSE has further stated that the revised dates will be updated on the admit cards. Schools have also been directed to make necessary corrections in their internal date sheets.
Class 10 exam rescheduled

Affected subjects include regional and foreign languages: Tibetan, Bhoti, Bhutiya, Bodo, Tangkhul, Mizo, Kashmiri, German, Japanese, Spanish, and Bahasa Melayu. Class 12 exam update
The Class 12 Legal Studies examination, earlier scheduled for March 3, is now set for April 10, 2026. All other Class 12 exams remain unchanged, and revised dates will appear in updated admit cards. Schools must update their internal date sheets and communicate the changes effectively to students.

The 2026 examinations began on February 17, with Class 10 students taking Mathematics and Class 12 students appearing for Biotechnology, Entrepreneurship, Shorthand (English), and Shorthand (Hindi). Class 10 exams will conclude on March 10, while Class 12 exams end on April 10.
