CBSE results 2026: How to apply for Class 12 re-evaluation and marks verification

CBSE has opened the Class 12 re-evaluation and marks verification portal, allowing students to submit requests online and track their application status.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has opened the online portal for Class 12 students seeking verification of marks and re-evaluation of their answer sheets. The facility became available on Tuesday morning after facing delays, including the portal remaining inaccessible on June 1.

In a notification issued to students, the board confirmed that the verification and re-evaluation window is now operational and urged candidates to carefully follow the prescribed application procedure before submitting requests.

Students can submit requests for multiple subjects through a single application. Different issues can also be raised separately at the same time through the portal.

How to apply for verification of marks

Students who wish to report discrepancies in their answer books can follow these steps:

Step 1: Log in and select the Verification of Marks option.

Step 2: The portal will display subjects for which scanned copies of answer books have been obtained.

Step 3: Choose the relevant subject.

Step 4: Select the issue you want to report. Available options include:

Missing pages

Missing supplementary copies

Missing graph or map

Blurred scanned answer book

Answer book does not belong to the candidate

Wrong question paper set evaluated

Depending on the issue selected, students may be required to provide page numbers or additional details.

Step 5: Click on Save and Continue to Preview.

Step 6: To add another request or make corrections, choose Make Another Verification Request.

Step 7: Once all details are reviewed, click Proceed to Payment.

Step 8: A confirmation message will appear. After selecting Lock My Request and Pay Now, no further changes can be made.

Step 9: Complete the online payment.

Step 10: Download and save the application form after successful payment.

Step 11: Candidates can monitor the status of their request through the portal.

How to apply for re-evaluation

Students seeking a fresh review of specific answers can apply through the re-evaluation section by following these steps:

Step 1: Select the Re-evaluation option.

Step 2: Choose the subject.

Step 3: Enter details of the question for which re-evaluation is being sought.

Step 4: Mention the exact question number. For instance, if the question is 1(a), enter "1(a)".

Step 5: Provide the page number where the answer appears in the answer book.

Step 6: Enter the marks awarded for that question or section.

Step 7: Fill in the Marks Claimed field with the marks you believe should be awarded.

Step 8: Clearly explain the reason for seeking re-evaluation. The board has advised students to avoid vague explanations and specify the discrepancy.

Step 9: Add more questions if re-evaluation is required for additional answers.

Step 10: Repeat the process for all relevant questions.

Step 11: Click Save and Continue to Preview.

Step 12: Review the information carefully.

Step 13: Use the option to add another request if needed.

Step 14: Freeze the application and proceed with payment. Once frozen, the details cannot be modified.

Step 15: After successful payment, download the application form. Students can also track the progress of their re-evaluation request through the portal.

Students advised to review details before final submission

CBSE has reminded candidates to verify all entries before locking their applications, as no edits will be allowed once the request is frozen and payment is completed.
