The Delhi government has opened applications for a range of scholarship schemes aimed at supporting students from the Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and Other Backward Classes categories for the 2025-26 academic year.
According to the official notice, five state-funded schemes along with several centrally sponsored programmes are available for students enrolled in schools, colleges and universities across Delhi. Eligible candidates can apply through the e-district portal, with the deadline set for April 30, 2026.
Fee support for school students
Among the key offerings is a fee reimbursement scheme for students studying from Classes 1 to 12 in recognised schools. The scheme covers tuition fees and other compulsory charges for eligible SC, ST and OBC students. To avail the benefit, applicants must have a family income of up to ₹3 lakh annually and meet prescribed academic performance and attendance criteria.
Merit-based aid for higher education
For students pursuing professional, technical and higher education courses, the government has introduced a merit-based scholarship. Financial assistance under this scheme ranges from ₹8,000 to ₹24,000 per year, depending on the course and whether the student is a hosteller or a day scholar. Eligibility requires students to have secured at least 60 per cent marks in the previous academic year.
Awards and incentives for academic excellence
The schemes also include recognition for top-performing students. Under the Dr BR Ambedkar State Topper Award, toppers from SC, ST and OBC categories in each discipline across universities will receive ₹25,000. Additionally, the Mukhyamantri Vidyarthi Pratibha Yojana provides ₹5,000 annually for students in Classes 9 and 10 and ₹10,000 for those in Classes 11 and 12, subject to eligibility conditions.
