UP govt announces 50% bus fare concession for police constable exam candidates

The UP government has announced a 50% concession on the government bus for candidates appearing in the UP Police Constable Recruitment Exam .

The Uttar Pradesh government has announced a 50% concession on state-run bus fares for candidates appearing in the UP Police Constable Recruitment Examination 2026. The initiative aims to ease travel expenses for aspirants and ensure their smooth participation in one of the state's largest recruitment drives.

Reaching exam centres made easy for the examinees

The written examination for recruitment to 32,679 Constable posts will be conducted on June 8, 9 and 10, 2026, across all 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh. To facilitate the movement of candidates, the Transport Department has been directed to operate special inter-district bus services and provide a fare concession to eligible examinees travelling to their designated centres.

Ahead of the examination, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath emphasised the need for a transparent, fair and secure recruitment process. He instructed officials to ensure that the examination is conducted without any compromise on integrity and confidentiality, noting that the recruitment exercise is linked to the aspirations and future of lakhs of young candidates.

The recruitment drive has witnessed an overwhelming response, with 28,86,797 candidates applying for 32,679 vacancies. To accommodate the large number of applicants, the state government has established 1,183 examination centres across Uttar Pradesh.

Security made strict across the state

Authorities have also strengthened administrative and security arrangements at all examination venues to ensure the smooth conduct of the test. Officials reiterated that strict measures have been implemented to prevent irregularities and maintain the fairness of the recruitment process.

The examination will be held in two shifts each day. The morning shift is scheduled from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon, while the afternoon shift will take place from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Candidates will also be provided with an additional five minutes beyond the prescribed examination duration to complete their question papers.

The state government expects the transport and logistical measures to help candidates reach their centres conveniently and participate in the examination without difficulty.
