The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay has announced an online Open House for candidates who have qualified for JEE Advanced 2026. The session, which is scheduled on June 7, is aimed at helping prospective students and their families understand various aspects of life and academics at the institute before making admission decisions through the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) counselling process.

What the online webinar has in store

According to IIT Bombay, the Open House will be conducted in webinar mode from 10 am to 1 pm. The event will feature a panel of faculty members and current students who will interact with participants and provide insights into academic programmes, research opportunities, campus culture, extracurricular activities, student life, and other key aspects of studying at the institute.

The institute has also planned a dedicated interaction session for prospective women students. During this segment, a separate faculty panel will address questions related to campus environment, safety measures, and support systems available for women students at IIT Bombay.

Official announcement by IIT Bombay

In a post on social media, IIT Bombay clarified that the Open House is not designed to resolve counselling-related queries. Instead, the focus will remain on answering general questions from students and parents about joining the institute and life on campus.

The webinar will be accessible through an online meeting link and will also be streamed live on IIT Bombay’s official YouTube channel. Additional information about the event is available in the Open House section on the JoSAA website.

Several IITs, along with the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bengaluru, are organising similar Open House sessions this month to help JEE Advanced-qualified candidates make informed choices before finalising their preferences during the JoSAA counselling process.
