Artificial intelligence and robotics being at the forefront of technological advancement, it has become a major point of interest, invoking curiosity among people of all age groups. To build on this momentum, the Indian government has launched a special initiative. The Ministry of Education is offering free courses in advanced subjects such as artificial intelligence and robotics through its online learning platform, SWAYAM. The registration process for these courses began on January 19.

Focus on animation, AI, and programming courses
A special 15-week animation course has been launched under the supervision of Banaras Hindu University (BHU). Technical skills relevant to the film and gaming industry will be taught through this course. Flame University has also introduced an “AI for Daily Productivity” course, which focuses on using artificial intelligence in everyday tasks.
IIT Bombay will conduct special tutorial classes on ‘C’ and ‘C++’ programming. School and college students can learn coding by watching the video-based lessons. At the same time, IIT Kanpur has introduced an ‘Advanced Robotics’ course, which is aimed at students interested in robot design and control methods.
Blockchain, cloud computing lessons by industry experts
Professors from IIT Kharagpur will conduct 12-week courses on blockchain and cloud computing. Topics ranging from the use of the Ethereum platform to cloud security will be covered. These courses have been specially designed for students of computer science and electronics engineering.

SWAYAM (Study Webs of Active-Learning for Young Aspiring Minds) is the central government’s online education platform. It offers free online classes conducted by teachers from the country’s top educational institutions. The platform was launched with the objective of making education accessible to people across the country.
