The makers of Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge have locked a major streaming agreement, with the film’s OTT rights being sold for a reported ₹150 crore, marking one of the most expensive digital deals for a Hindi film sequel in recent times.
According to a report by Bollywood Hungama, the deal was finalised after the strong box office run and digital performance of the first instalment, Dhurandhar. The sequel is directed by Aditya Dhar and once again features Ranveer Singh in the lead role.

How the ₹150 crore deal came together
Sources cited in the report said that before the release of Dhurandhar, Netflix had expressed interest in acquiring the digital rights of both films together for ₹175 crore. However, the producers, backed by confidence in the franchise’s potential, chose to wait until the first film’s theatrical release.
That decision appears to have paid off. After the film’s commercial success and strong audience response, the makers reportedly secured ₹150 crore for the second part alone. By comparison, the OTT rights of the first film were sold for around ₹85 crore.
An industry insider told the publication that such a valuation is rare at a time when streaming platforms have generally become more cautious with big-ticket acquisitions. The success of Dhurandhar and sustained viewer interest in the sequel reportedly prompted the platform to agree to the premium price.
What to expect from the sequel
Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge will focus on the rise of Ranveer Singh’s character, Hamza Ali Mazari, following the death of Rehman Dakait, played by Akshaye Khanna, in the first film. The sequel expands the crime-action universe introduced earlier and raises the stakes for its central character.

The sequel is scheduled to release in theatres on March 19, 2026. Reports suggest that its OTT premiere is likely in the second week of May, with Jio Hotstar expected to be the streaming partner.
