Directed by Pradeep Krishen and written by and starring Arundhati Roy, In Which Annie Gives It Those Ones will be re-released on March 13 after a 4K restoration. The film will be screened in 14 cities across 19 cinema halls. Set in Delhi’s architecture school, the film captures the everyday lives, struggles and humour of students navigating college life. The restoration has been carried out by the Film Heritage Foundation while carefully preserving the film’s original quality.
Speaking about the restoration, Arundhati Roy shared in a statement, “If not for the Film Heritage Foundation and Shivendra Singh Dungarpur’s several years’ long dogged perseverance and stubborn love for the film, and if not for Pradip’s carefully archived material, In Which Annie Gives It Those Ones would not have had the opportunity to take a bow in the real world before retiring to a resting place in some dim archive."
The film’s revival was also spoken about by Shivendra Singh Dungarpur, director of the Film Heritage Foundation. “The experience of the film's premiere and standing ovation at the Berlin International Film Festival was extraordinary. This is not just restoration, but you can say it's a film getting a new lease of life,” it was said.
The film’s journey was also reflected upon by director Pradeep Krishen. “I moved away from cinema in 1994. And this small 1988 film, which was shown only once on Doordarshan, is now being beautifully restored and released in the country,” it was added.

For the special premiere, exclusive screenings will be held in the presence of the director and actors at Nariman Point in Mumbai and at select multiplexes in Delhi. In addition, limited copies of the new edition of Arundhati Roy’s original script will be made available for buyers.
