Bollywood blockbuster Dhurandhar swept the Chetak Screen Awards 2026 with 14 wins at a glamorous ceremony on Sunday, according to The Indian Express.

The awards included best actor (Male) for Ranveer Singh, best director for Aditya Dhar and best actor in a supporting role (Male) for Akshaye Khanna.

The film dominated the technical categories too, as per reports from The Indian Express, winning awards for editing, sound design, special effects, cinematography, production design, background score, action, hairstyling, and make-up.

Dhurandhar’s box office power play

Dhurandhar had a dream run at the box office following its release on December 5, 2025. One of the most talked-about films of the last year, the Aditya Dhar film reportedly became a topic of discussion and debate, which further drove audiences to theatres. The film completed 75 days in theatres on February 17, marking a historic theatrical run.

Despite premiering on Netflix nearly two months after release, the film continued to draw audiences to cinemas.

It closed its domestic run at Rs 894.49 crore net, registering 3.6 crore footfall, making it the second most-watched Indian film in the post-pandemic era.

Dhurandhar reportedly became the first Bollywood film to enter the Rs 800 crore club. Globally, the film earned Rs 1,354.84 crore, including Rs 299.35 crore overseas. It now reportedly stands as the second biggest Bollywood grosser worldwide after Dangal, while also emerging as the highest-grossing Bollywood film in North America with $20.65 million.

Dhurandhar has proved to be significantly pivotal in shaping the trajectory of Indian cinema in the global forefront.

The massive footfall and the long lasting popularity of this film will be a testament to Indian cinema.
