Two upcoming dates on Karan Aujla's ongoing P-Pop Culture India Tour have been pulled from the schedule, with fans in Lucknow and Ludhiana left without a show after their events were quietly removed from the District ticketing app. The cancellations follow weeks of growing criticism directed at the tour's management since a troubled Mumbai concert in March.

According to a report of the Hindustan Times, the Punjabi artist launched the tour at Delhi's Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on February 28, later performing in Kolkata on April 3. The controversy took root after his March 3 Holi Edition show at Mumbai's MMRDA Grounds, where attendees reported chaotic crowd management, near-stampede conditions, and multiple people collapsing in the intense afternoon heat.

Why were the shows pulled?

The report further stated that a Lucknow city official pointed to several overlapping issues, including an unresolved liquor license, venue unavailability due to scheduled cricket matches, and weak ticket sales. "It was not a sold-out," the official noted, adding that premium table pricing - running into lakhs for groups of 10 to 15 - may have deterred buyers.

A source close to the organising team offered a different angle, saying the team wanted to ensure all logistics were firmly in place before proceeding with further shows, particularly after the Mumbai incident.

Refunds and what's still on

Ticketing platform District confirmed refunds for both Lucknow and Ludhiana shows, citing “logistical difficulties.” The district confirmed the cancellations to fans via a reply to the comment. Specifically referencing the Ludhiana show dated April 10, citing "logistical difficulties." The Lucknow show was scheduled for April 10, and the Ludhiana show for April 12. Refunds, the platform stated, would be processed within 5 to 7 business days to the original payment sources.

Hindustan Times further cited that despite the setbacks, the Jaipur show on April 5 at JECC Ground remains on track. Following the backlash, Aujla also announced ‘Mumbai 2.0’, scheduled for April 12 as a follow-up show. Neither the singer nor his management team has released a formal public statement addressing the cancellations.
