The shooting of the film Maalik was underway in Bangladesh when actor Arifin Shuvoo narrowly escaped a serious on-set accident. During a scene, his leg suddenly caught fire. Realising what had happened, Arifin immediately tried to put out the flames himself. Sources say he is currently stable, but a few seconds’ delay could have turned the situation into something far more dangerous.
Arifin stars opposite Bidya Sinha Mim in the film, and the shoot has been progressing at a fast pace. The mishap occurred while filming an action sequence where, as required by the script, the lower part of Arifin’s leg was set on fire.
However, the moment he began walking, the flames flared up unexpectedly. A video of the incident has since gone viral, showing fire rising near his knee as the actor frantically tries to douse it. Crew members quickly rushed in to assist, but not before Arifin sustained injuries to his leg.

Despite the burn, Arifin has chosen not to halt production. Ei Samay tried reaching him to check on his health, but the calls went unanswered. According to sources, after receiving initial treatment, the actor returned to the set to continue shooting. However, the sudden accident has reportedly left him physically exhausted and mentally shaken.
