Fans in India hoping to watch Kanye West perform live will have to wait a little longer as the rapper's highly anticipated debut concert in the country has been postponed, and the organisers are reportedly shifting the event by nearly two months.

The concert, originally scheduled for March 29, will now take place on May 23.

Organisers confirm new date

The organisers confirmed the change through an official statement, citing the current international situation as the reason for the delay.

"Due to the prevailing geopolitical situation and regional tensions, the Ye show in New Delhi will now be rescheduled to 23 May 2026," Hindustan Times quoted the statement.

The update was posted on the official ticketing website. It also confirmed that all previously purchased tickets will remain valid for the new date. At present, organisers have not issued any announcement regarding refunds.

Anticipation for Kanye West's first India concert

Kanye West's first-ever performance in India has generated significant excitement among fans. The Grammy-winning rapper is scheduled to perform at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Delhi.

The concert is expected to draw thousands of fans to the national capital, with the venue reportedly close to full capacity as anticipation builds.

Despite speculation about possible shows in other cities, the Delhi event remains the only confirmed performance in India so far.

Rumours circulated before announcement

Even before the official update, rumours about a possible delay had started circulating on social media. Some fans linked the speculation to the broader geopolitical tensions in the Middle East.

Earlier this month, another international artist's performance in India was affected by the same situation. Bahraini rapper Flipperachi had cancelled his planned show amid the ongoing regional conflict.

His song Fa9la, which featured in the film Dhurandhar, recently gained widespread popularity. The track topped multiple Billboard Arabia charts in the same week, including Top 100 Artists, Hot 100 Songs, Top 50 Khaleeji and Top 50 Arabic Hip Hop. The achievement also earned him a place in the Guinness World Records.

Album release speculation online

Some online discussions also linked the postponement to Kanye West’s upcoming album Bully, which is expected to release on March 27, just days before the concert's original date.

However, organisers have only confirmed the revised schedule. For now, fans will have to wait until May 23 to see Ye take the stage in India.
