At just 16 years, Owen Cooper, who stars in "Adolescence", scripted history by becoming the youngest recipient of the Golden Globes Award. He bagged the award in the Best Supporting Actor category in a Television series.
With this award, Cooper surpassed Chris Colfer, who was 20 when he won the award for "Glee" in 2010.

'Does not feel real...'
During his acceptance speech, Owen admitted that standing on the stage and receiving the award did not feel real and recalled his incredible journey. "Standing here at the Golden Globes does not feel real whatsoever. What an incredible journey me and my family has been put through," he said and added, "We are forever grateful for what these people have done for me and my family."
Took the risk, says Owen
Reminiscing how he took the risk and went to drama classes despite being the only boy there, Owen said, "I thought I might be okay, I might be awful, I would never know so I took the risk and went to drama classes. I was the only boy there... and I got through it."
His speech drew a lot of cheer and laughter from the audience and Owen seemed incredibly shy as he stood on the stage.
He goes on to say how he is still learning everyday from the people, especially from the actors in the room.
"We are forever grateful for what these people have done for me and my family," said Owen.
He also thanked all his co-stars and Netflix and before walking out, said, "Bring on 2026. You’ll never walk alone."
