Until now, many people believed that the famous American cartoon 'The Simpsons' had an almost magical ability to predict the future. The show is often credited with foreseeing major political and global events years in advance. However, after the US's recent military intervention in Venezuela, social media users are now saying that Amazon Prime's popular series 'Jack Ryan' is the inspiration behind the operation.

People across the world are shocked by the striking similarities between real events and the second season of 'Jack Ryan', which was released in 2019. Netizens point out that the way US special forces captured Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and took him to America closely matches scenes shown in the series. A clip from the show has gone viral, in which CIA analyst Jack Ryan explains why Venezuela is a major global concern, despite having vast oil and gold reserves, while facing a severe humanitarian crisis.

Chilling similarities with reality

Viewers have also highlighted how the fictional president in the series destroys Venezuela's economy, which many feel mirrors the country's real situation today. The most unsettling similarity, however, is the nature of the operation itself. In real life, US forces reportedly carried out a sudden raid and flew Maduro to America, while in the series, Jack Ryan and the CIA chief enter the president's palace directly using a helicopter.

Coincidence or clever storytelling?

When 'Jack Ryan' was released, critics dismissed it as American propaganda or unrealistic fiction. Today, those scenes are being described online as eerily accurate. Responding to the debate, series creator Carlton Cuse said the show was never meant to predict the future, but to present geopolitics believably. Even so, many are asking whether pop culture somehow reflects secret plans in advance, or if this is just a coincidence. Either way, 'Jack Ryan' from six years ago is now trending again in the context of Venezuela's recent events.
