Hollywood actor John Krasinski has expressed interest in watching Dhurandhar, the spy thriller headlined by Ranveer Singh, which has become a major box office success. The actor shared that he is keen to explore the film and draw creative inspiration from it.
Krasinski on Indian cinema, Dhurandhar
In a recent interview with NDTV, Krasinski spoke about his awareness of Indian films while responding to a question about Dhurandhar. Although he has not watched the film yet, he acknowledged the impact Indian cinema is making globally.
"I haven't seen the film. But as far as Indian films at large, some of the most cutting-edge movie-making that we have. I know a lot of my filmmaking friends who are out there trying to direct movies are constantly and consistently blown away by films coming out from over there," Krasinski said.

He added that he is open to watching the film and learning from it creatively. "Of course. I love watching anything. It's always inspiring to see what everybody else is doing."
Inside Krasinski’s storytelling style
Krasinski also spoke about how he develops ideas for his projects, noting that both espionage storytelling and writing tend to be solitary processes. He explained that working across different genres allows him to continuously think about new narratives.
The actor revealed that even while filming The Fountain of Youth, he was already shaping ideas related to his Jack Ryan project. According to him, he mentally builds a film over time, noting down ideas as they come. Once the story becomes clear in his mind, including the ending, he moves on to writing the screenplay.
Dhurandhar's box office success and storyline
Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar has turned into a massive commercial success. Released on December 5, 2025, the film earned ₹1307 crore worldwide. Its sequel, released on March 19, has crossed ₹1790 crore globally.

The films follow the journey of Jaskirat Singh Rangi, also known as Hamza Ali Mazari, who is sent to Lyari in Pakistan to dismantle a terror network. The narrative tracks his infiltration into a Baloch gang and his efforts to blend into the local setup as part of the mission.
Krasinski returns with Jack Ryan: Ghost War
Krasinski is currently seen in Jack Ryan: Ghost War, which premiered on Amazon Prime Video on May 20, 2026. He reprises his role as Jack Ryan, a former Marine and CIA analyst drawn back into field operations.
The film also features Wendell Pierce, Michael Kelly, Betty Gabriel, and Sienna Miller in key roles.
