At CinemaCon 2026, Yash shared, “That’s the most exciting part. When you say action films, they have generally been restricted to male directors in India."

The actor's point was simple: action films in India have almost always been a male director's domain. Geetu Mohandas changes that. A large-scale gangster film directed by a woman brings something to the table that the genre hasn't really seen before, and Yash knows it. “Her thoughts are very clear, and she has a strong conviction in whatever she does. She’s a fabulous writer—I could learn so much from her," he added.

Yash issued a statement on Instagram after the second delay. He wrote, “There are films we make, and then there are films that remind us why we fell in love with cinema.
