Actress Keerthy Suresh has openly spoken about how disturbing it feels to see AI-made images that look real and sometimes inappropriate. In a recent interview promoting ‘Revolver Rita’, she said the technology is “both a boon and a bane,” explaining that even though AI has great potential, it is also crossing limits and affecting personal privacy.
During the event of Revolver Rita, Keerthy said she was shocked when she first saw a fake photo created with AI without her consent.
She explained that she often finds images on social media showing her in clothes she never wore. “I pause to think, ‘When did I wear that'?" she said, only to later realise the picture was completely AI-generated. She added that these experiences feel upsetting and confusing.

In one worrying case, she saw an edited image showing her in an unflattering pose. This false version of herself affected her deeply. “It’s extremely irritating,” she said, adding that such images hurt her and her family when they spread online. Keerthy also mentioned that she cannot understand why people make these edited or AI-created pictures, calling it a dangerous trend.
She is especially worried about deepfakes. Keerthy said she had seen AI-created images of herself with actress Samantha that looked so real it seemed like they had actually posed together. These kinds of images, she warned, make it harder to trust what we see, “and that’s scary.”

Keerthy’s remarks come at a time when the misuse of AI-generated images is being widely discussed. Her concerns add to the growing demand for rules and ethical guidelines in the AI era.
