The latest addition to the elite list of World Cup teen is seventeen-year-old Gilberto Mora who has become the youngest Mexican to participate in a World Cup and is also the sixth-youngest to do so in football history.
The audience in Mexico City, including the boxing legend known as 'Canelo' Alvarez, erupted when the boy entered the fray in the 65th minute, breaking the record of Mexican footballers for participation in a World Cup, which was set way back in the 1930 World Cup when Manuel "Chaquetas" Rosas played at the tender age of 18 years and 125 days.

From birthplace Tuxtla Gutierrez, which is situated in the south of Mexico, Mora has shown incredible promise and broke into the ranks of Liga MX just shy of 16 years old after impressing for Club Tijuana's youth academy.
