A shocking shooting incident in South Delhi’s Amar Colony left a Class 10 student critically injured on Tuesday evening after a confrontation at a local food point allegedly escalated into gunfire.
According to police sources, the teenager was dining with a female classmate when an argument broke out with a group of boys seated nearby. Investigators suspect the attack may have stemmed from a personal dispute linked to a relationship issue.
Police said both the injured student and the girl accompanying him are minors. The main accused is also reportedly a Class 10 student from the same school.
Argument escalated into firing
According to India Today, the preliminary investigation revealed that the confrontation began after one of the boys allegedly brushed against the victim’s chair while passing by. The victim objected, leading to a brief verbal exchange between the two groups.
Police said the group initially left the eatery but returned within minutes. One of the boys then allegedly opened fire at the victim before fleeing the scene along with the others.
Eyewitnesses described scenes of panic at the crowded food outlet as people rushed for safety immediately after the gunshots were fired.
The victim sustained severe gunshot injuries, with one bullet reportedly lodged in his brain.

Teen shifted to AIIMS trauma centre
According to India Today, the injured student was first taken to Moolchand Hospital for emergency treatment before being shifted to the AIIMS Trauma Centre because of the seriousness of his condition. Doctors treating the teenager have reportedly described his condition as extremely critical. Police said the victim’s father runs a laundry business in the Chattarpur Enclave area of Delhi.

Police analysing CCTV footage
According to India Today, teams from Delhi Police, including senior officers from the local police station, reached the spot soon after receiving the PCR call.
Investigators have launched a manhunt to identify and apprehend the accused. Police are currently analysing CCTV footage from the surrounding area and conducting technical surveillance to track those involved.
Officials are also trying to determine the exact relationship between the accused and the victim and whether there had been previous disputes between them.
Further investigation into the case is underway.
