A 32-year-old woman was reportedly killed by her husband by being beaten to death with a LPG gas cylinder by her husband. The incident took place in the couple’s home in Pul Prahladpur, located in south east Delhi on Sunday. As per The Times of India, the victim had been identified as Poonam, who was living with her husband, Suresh Kumar, in a DDA Janta Flats unit. The couple had reportedly shifted to Delhi from Churu in Rajasthan a month ago, and they got married in 2020.

Investigation deem argument to be the root cause
As per reports, the investigation in the initial stage stated that the incident was reportedly triggered by an argument about financially supporting the husband’s brother. The police stated that Suresh allegedly repeatedly attacked his wife with a small LPG gas cylinder.
Poonam succumbed to fatal injuries on the spot. The couple reportedly has two daughters, a four-year-old, living with her grandparents in Churu. Another, a one-and-a-half-year-old, was present in the house at the time of the alleged incident.
Neighbours alert the police
The neighbours heard screams from the couple’s flat and reportedly called the police. The police, on reaching the scene, found Poonam’s body in the house. Suresh Kumar was taken into custody and have registered a case of murder as per reports.

The police are said to be continuing their investigation. The accused is being questioned, and the circumstances that led to the heinous incident are being examined.
