A video linked to a Nagpur woman's allegations of rape, blackmail, extortion and forced religious conversion has surfaced online, bringing renewed attention to the case. The woman, who filed a complaint with Sonegaon Police, has accused a former school acquaintance and his associates of subjecting her to repeated abuse and coercion over several months.
Video surfaces amid investigation
The video, which has been widely circulated online, reportedly shows a man holding the woman's hands while chanting religious verses as she repeatedly pleads to be released. The footage emerged days after the woman lodged a complaint detailing allegations of sexual assault, blackmail and forced conversion.
Police have already arrested two accused, Ayyaz Taj Madare and Ameen Shaikh while a third accused, identified as Hazrat Maulana, remains absconding. Investigators are examining digital evidence as part of the probe.

Allegations of drugging and blackmail
According to the FIR, the woman alleged that Madare reconnected with her under the pretext of purchasing property for a friend. She claimed that during a meeting at a hotel on February 8, 2025, he allegedly spiked her drink, causing her to lose consciousness. When she regained awareness, she found that photographs and videos of her in compromising circumstances had allegedly been recorded, per a report by The Times of India.
The complainant further alleged that the recordings were later used to blackmail her. She told police that the accused threatened to make the material public and share it with her husband, leading to the alleged extortion of nearly ₹4 lakh.

Claims of coercion and conversion ritual
The woman alleged that she was repeatedly forced to consume a liquid brought in a plastic bottle while the accused chanted in Urdu and performed acts she described as "hypnosis" and black magic before sexually assaulting her.
She also alleged that on May 31 she was taken to Kalmeshwar, where a religious ritual was conducted against her will. According to the FIR cited by TOI, she was forced to say "Qabul hai qabul hai", after which she was declared converted and married to the main accused. The woman further claimed she was compelled to eat meat and was later sexually assaulted again, reported TOI.

Police probe underway
The complainant, whose husband serves in the armed forces outside Nagpur, initially did not approach authorities due to fear, police said. She later informed her husband and filed a complaint.
Zonal DCP Rishikesh Reddy told TOI, "We are carrying out forensic analysis of seized electronic devices, verifying financial transactions, and recording witness statements. All angles, including coercion and digital evidence, are being probed." Police have invoked provisions of the anti-black magic law and said the investigation is ongoing.
