A road in Hyderabad named after US President Donald Trump is scheduled to be inaugurated on June 23 by Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy.
The stretch, located alongside the United States Consulate in the city’s Financial District, is expected to become one of the most talked-about road names in India.
Road near US Consulate to get new identity
The road, which runs adjacent to the US Consulate General in Hyderabad, will officially be known as "Donald Trump Avenue." The Telangana government had first announced the proposal last year, describing it as part of a wider effort to highlight Hyderabad’s global connections and international profile, per NDTV reports.

Officials have said the inauguration is scheduled for June 23, with Chief Minister Revanth Reddy expected to formally unveil the renamed avenue. The road is situated in Hyderabad’s Financial District, one of the city’s key business and technology hubs.
Part of a larger branding initiative
The proposal is not limited to a single road. The Telangana government has also explored naming prominent roads and junctions after globally recognised personalities, companies and institutions associated with innovation, industry and investment. Plans discussed earlier included names linked to industrialist Ratan Tata as well as major technology firms such as Google, Microsoft and Wipro.
According to government officials, cited by NDTV, the idea is to reinforce Hyderabad’s image as a global investment destination and a major technology centre. The initiative was presented as part of the state's broader vision to attract international attention and strengthen global engagement.
