Secondary admit cards not acceptable for SIR hearings, Election Commission clarifies. In response to a letter sent to the state CEO office on Thursday, the Commission stated that secondary (Class X) admit cards will not be approved as valid documents for hearings.
The Election Commission stated that in the notification issued by the Election Commission on October 27, 2025, there is no mention of secondary admit cards as verification documents. Therefore, they cannot be accepted.

Certificates accepted instead of admit cards
Among the 11 documents mentioned by the Commission for Special Intensive Revision or SIR, secondary certificates are considered acceptable. This is because they contain the year and date of birth. Educational certificates issued by recognized boards or recognized universities are also mentioned. However, secondary admit cards are not mentioned there. It has been learned that admit cards were accepted in some districts.
District officials sought Clarification
Recently, during a video conference with the CEO office, a district magistrate from North Bengal raised questions about this matter. Questions were raised about accepting admit cards when certificates were being taken. Following this, the state CEO office wrote to the Commission to clear the confusion. It was clarified there that secondary admit cards are not acceptable.
