A steady presence behind a celebrated career
Srinivasan stayed largely away from the spotlight but was known in sporting circles as Usha’s strongest pillar through decades of competition, coaching and administration. From her days as India’s leading track athlete to her later roles in sports governance and Parliament, he remained closely involved in managing the demands of public life.
Condolence messages poured in from across the sporting and political spectrum, although no detailed public statement had been issued by Usha or her office at the time of reporting.

Shocked & saddened by the sudden passing away of Deputy CM of Maharashtra Shri. Ajit Pawar ji. His absence will be felt in sports, as he served as the President of Maharashtra Olympic Association. My heartfelt condolences with his family, friends and supporters.
