There appears to be an increasing interest among Indian tourists in South Korea, and this is understandable. Whether it is K-Dramas, K-pop, skincare, or street foods, there is something about the country that makes it irresistible to Indians, whether it is a family tour or a group of young people.

As if this is not enough, South Korea has taken another step to make visiting their country more convenient. According to the latest news updates, South Korea is extending its visa waiver on group visas for some countries, including India, up to June 30, 2027.

Policy change details

The new policy has reduced the visa fee or waived it for tourists under specific conditions. Under this policy, the typical fee of KRW 18,000 (Rs 1,155) will not be applicable to the visa fee for the selected countries, including India. This waiver will only apply to tourists coming via registered travel agencies.

Who is eligible to get a waiver?

There are several prerequisites that the travellers have to consider. First of all, it is only valid in case of group travel, not for individual visitors. Therefore, one has to organize his journey with the help of an authorised travel agency in a previously organised group of people and submit their documents collectively through this travel agency. People travelling individually and independently cannot enjoy this waiver.
