A young delivery worker’s attempt to build a new life in the capital ended in tragedy within days of his arrival. The 25-year-old man died after falling from the Dabri flyover in west Delhi, following an alleged collision with a car on Thursday morning, police said.

The incident came to light after a PCR call around 7.35 am reported that a man had fallen from the flyover on Pankha Road and needed urgent medical help. A police team rushed to the scene, where they found a damaged scooter and a car on the elevated stretch. The injured rider was taken to a nearby hospital, but doctors declared him dead.

How the accident unfolded

According to The Times of India, the preliminary findings suggest that the victim lost control of his scooter after being hit by the car, causing him to fall from the flyover. The exact sequence of events is still being pieced together, but investigators believe the collision triggered the fatal fall.

Police confirmed that the driver of the car fled the scene immediately after the crash. The vehicle involved has been identified and is registered in the name of a Dabri resident, providing a key lead in the investigation.

Victim’s journey cut short

The deceased, Rajkumar, was a native of Jharkhand’s Godda district and had come to Delhi only a week ago. He had recently started working as a delivery executive with a food delivery platform and was staying in Sagarpur with his roommate, Mahavir.

According to Mahavir, the two had spoken shortly before the accident. Rajkumar had called him to meet at their usual tea stall that morning. When repeated calls went unanswered later, Mahavir grew concerned, only to receive news of the accident from the police.

The two men had migrated together in search of better opportunities, working earlier in cities like Chennai and Bengaluru before arriving in Delhi.
