A visually impaired woman has been allegedly taunted and harassed over her disability in Madhya Pradesh by a BJP leader. A video of the incident has gone viral on social media. The incident occurred three days ago at a church in the Jabalpur region of Madhya Pradesh. BJP's Jabalpur organisational district leadership has counter-claimed that visually impaired and specially-abled people were being forcibly converted at that church. The BJP had organised a protest rally against the proselytising efforts. However, BJP has been silent over the allegations of harassment.

What did the video show?
In the video that went viral on social media, it can be seen that BJP leader Anju Bhargava attacked a visually impaired woman and her children while they were sitting inside the church. The authenticity of the said video has not been verified.
The video also shows Bhargava holding the woman's hand and hurling abuses at her. Anju Bhargava can also be heard telling the woman that she is visually impaired in this birth and will remain visually impaired in the next birth as well. The BJP leader can even be heard questioning why she came to the Christian church with her children wearing sindoor.

Congress reacts
The incident has caused widespread discontent. Congress leader Supriya Shrinate has strongly criticised Bhargava by posting a video of this incident. She has further alleged that there is no consistency between what the BJP says and what it does. Supriya claims that what Bhargava did was extremely inhumane. The BJP has chosen to remain silent over the incident.
