Delhi tribunal awards ₹2.72 crore to teen paralysed in 2023 accident

A Delhi Motor Accident Claims Tribunal (MACT) has awarded ₹2.72 crore as compensation to a 19-year-old man who was left paralysed after a road accident in 2023. The tribunal, presided over by Ruchika Singla, ruled that the accident occurred due to rash and negligent driving by the offending vehicle. The order, passed on April 4, came after evaluating evidence on the principle of “preponderance of probabilities", concluding that the driver was responsible for the crash. Delhi sees coldest April day in 11 years

Delhi experienced an unusual spell of cool weather this week, with cloud cover, gusty winds, and light rain keeping temperatures well below seasonal norms. On Wednesday, April 8, the city recorded its lowest maximum temperature for April in 11 years, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). Sensex falls 500 pts, Nifty slips below 23,900 after record rally

The stock market opened on a weaker note on Thursday, a day after witnessing a sharp rally. The Nifty50 slipped below the 23,900 mark, while the BSE Sensex declined by over 500 points in early trade. At around 9:16 AM, the Nifty50 was trading at 23,857.40, down 140 points or 0.59%, while the Sensex stood at 77,034.34, lower by 529 points or 0.68%, reflecting cautious investor sentiment after the previous session’s surge.
