The Indian national football team is set to participate in the Unity Cup 2026, a four-nation friendly tournament in London featuring the Nigeria national football team, Jamaica national football team, and Zimbabwe national football team. The tournament will be hosted at The Valley, home of Charlton Athletic FC.

This marks India’s return to the United Kingdom for international matches after a 24-year gap, with their last appearance dating back to 2002. Back then, India played two friendlies against Jamaica, suffering a 3-0 defeat in Watford before earning a goalless draw in Wolverhampton.

Semi-final clash against Jamaica scheduled

India will face Jamaica in the second semi-final on May 27, with kick-off scheduled at 19:30 BST (00:00 IST on May 28). The opening semi-final between Nigeria and Zimbabwe will take place on May 26. Winners of the two matches will progress to the final on May 30, while the losing sides will compete in a third-place play-off.

The fixture presents a fresh challenge for India, who have never previously faced Nigeria or Zimbabwe in international football. The tournament format ensures at least two matches for each team, offering valuable competitive exposure on foreign soil.
