BMW Motorrad has confirmed that it will launch the F 450 GS in India on April 23. This new adventure tourer will serve as the entry point into the brand’s GS range, replacing the earlier G 310 GS.

BMW to bring new GS entry point to India

The motorcycle will be manufactured in India by TVS Motor Company at its Hosur facility. This continues the strong partnership between the two companies in developing and producing small and mid-capacity motorcycles. The F 450 GS has generated strong interest in India, especially after the G 310 GS was discontinued. It was first shown as a concept at the EICMA 2024 and later revealed in production form at EICMA 2025 after being spotted testing multiple times. Production began in late November, and the bike is now ready for its market debut.

Engine, features and expected pricing

The BMW F 450 GS is powered by a 420cc parallel twin liquid-cooled engine that produces 48 hp and 43 Nm. It comes paired with a 6-speed gearbox and features BMW’s Shift Assistant Pro for clutchless upshifts and downshifts. The bike also gets quad LED daytime running lamps inspired by the flagship BMW R1300 GS. Another feature is BMW’s Easy Ride Clutch system, which is designed to improve comfort and riding dynamics. This system is standard on the Trophy variant and can be added to other variants. Internationally, the F 450 GS is offered in four variants, which include Basic, Exclusive, Sport and Trophy. All of these could be introduced in India. The motorcycle has a kerb weight of 178kg.
