Several schools in Delhi received bomb threat emails on Friday morning, prompting the immediate evacuation of students and staff and a large-scale security response across campuses.
According to a report by the Hindustan Times, police said that calls began coming in around 9:12 am from at least three schools reporting threat emails. Among those that alerted authorities were BT Tamil School in Jhandewalan, Sardar Patel Vidyalaya and The British School. Later, more institutions informed police that they, too, had received similar emails.
Police, bomb squads deployed
Delhi Police, along with fire department personnel and bomb disposal squads, were dispatched to the affected campuses. Teams carried out extensive anti-sabotage checks and searched school premises as a precautionary measure.

Senior police officers said the emails were sent using an anonymous mail ID, adding that checks were still underway at multiple locations.
As per a report by the Hindustan Times, in a message sent to parents, one of the schools said, "Dear Parents, this morning the school received a security threat. As a precautionary measure, the police are in school for necessary security measures. All students have been evacuated safely. Once the school is declared safe, classes will be resumed."
Second threat in a week
This is the second time in less than a week that schools in the national capital have received bomb threat emails. On February 9, more than 15 schools reported similar threats.

Earlier this week, at least 13 schools received an email from a sender identifying himself as “zachary jenkins”. The mail, signed by “Khalistan National Army”, claimed that “Delhi will become Khalistan. In memory of Afzal Guru” and also warned of an attack on Parliament later in the week. After thorough checks, those threats were declared a hoax.
A day later, nearly 10 schools in Chandigarh and Mohali received bomb threats. On Wednesday morning, 18 schools in Mohali reported similar emails sent between 7.30 am and 8 am, shortly before classes were scheduled to begin. Investigations into the fresh emails in Delhi are ongoing.
